SASHA LIEBLEIN
Brown University, B.A., Archaeology and the Ancient World
While at Brown, Sasha focused on studying the Bronze Age period of the ancient Near East. She pursued this interest further while living abroad in Spain, where she worked in a medieval archaeology research laboratory and enhanced her command of the Spanish language. This experience inspired her to move back to Spain this September with a Fulbright grant, in search of the first conclusive material evidence that the Justinian Plague reached the shores of Barcelona. When Sasha is not off exploring, she spends her time volunteering at a Los Angeles camp for homeless children, getting lost in the canyons behind her house, playing with her beagle named Buster, and cooking up new culinary recipes. She is proficient in Spanish and last year led Community Service Costa Rica.
